Özsimge Tekstil was founded by Şahika Aşkıner in 1992, when she was only 27 years old with almost no capital and only 2 years of experience in Textile Sector as a merchandiser, with 10 second hand sewing machines and 11 women workers in the first floor of the current building which was a family building

From 1992 until 1994, the company worked as a subcontracter for important garment exporters in İzmir and it was mainly stitching nightwear and some basic t-shirts for them.

After 1994, 2 cutting tables , 2 ironing units and couple of quality controllers were added, so it expanded to the second floor of the buiding and made its first export to a well known Dutch and American nightwear company. Until 1996 the company’s only customer was that nightwear company. Then a new Belgium company came in placed his first children T-shirt order of 300pcs. With the trust and help of these 2 companies, Özsimge Tekstil started growing up and started production of various children garments as well as maternity wear under Walt Disney license.

In 2000, the company was introduced to the Italian market by an Italian agent and nearly for 15 years worked with many high quality Italian brands and with their designers such as Moncler, Cerruti, Henry Cottons, Conte of Florence, Slam, Fiorucci, Woolrich, Frankie Morello, I Pinco Pallino, Jeans Paul Gaultier ect.

80% of the production and export has been made to Italy until 2010. After this year due to the economical crises in Italy, most Italian brands closed down or due to decreased orders, they decided to produce in Italy. So, Özsimge Tekstil has started exporting to U.K, Russia, France and Denmark ect.while continued working with couple of its old and good Italian customers.

Özsimge Tekstil is one of the first garment manufacturers in İzmir, who got GOTS certificate for organic garment manufacturing 20 years ago as the company created its registered organic Ladieswear brand called “Profondita’ “ which was sold for many years in high end shops in Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Russia via distrubitors.

This year, in August 2022 we will be celebrating our 30 years of foundation and when we look back, we can say that it has not been easy, we had our ups and downs, many sleepless nights but we survived. Maybe it all lies on the woman power and passion, as 60% of our employee consist of women. More than 50% of the total employee has been working over 15 years, couple of them have been working over 25 years and many have worked many years and they have been retired.

After all, these 30 years of challenge is the result of loving what we do, never giving up, being ambitious for success, keeping mutual respect and understanding between all level of employee, sticking to ethical and social values, being honest, positive in mind, creating trustable, pleasant, fun and friendly working conditions and atmosphere for everyone in the company.
